I found an old black & white polaroid photo of me in my graduation duds and here it is below:

I scanned it in at 600 dpi.
I'm sorry I can't figure out if it's my high school or college graduation. The building behind me doesn't help me. And nothing on the back of the photo gives a date.
Then of course what do you think I thought it would be fun to do? Yup, do it up in sepia!

I applied the "faded sepia photo" style in Adobe Photoshop 7.

Anyway, another entry in my photo blog. I must tell I love converting my photos to sepia!
Just judging from the clothing and hairstyles on the other two in the photos I'd guess early 70's, so probably high school yeah? But you're right, not much in the way of clues there. The edges of the border suggest earlier than that, since I don't remember those being popular after about 1965-66ish, but I don't see how that could be. I wonder if it's possible to look that sort of thing up... Maybe Wikipedia has a trail of breadcrumbs to follow.
Cool effect any way you look at it, but I'd usually associate sepia with a much older subject ;)

I grew up in clothes and shoes like the women in behind.
No way it was later than 63-65.
Remember how slow the modes traveled back then.
(Norway being in the outskirts of the world, my birthplace being in faraway land in Norway.)
The same goes for the hairdo.

I like the way you used just a touch of sepia. Mine for this week were taken in broad daylight and I was looking for a way to give them detail. Maybe I should have desaturated them first.

How funny that you don't know if it's high school or college. I could tell mine from the color of graduation gowns, though - and how WRINKLED my high school gown was = my sister SAT on it in the back seat on the way to graduation, after I had my grandmother iron it at the house. I was SO pissed...

That is a great idea, since it is graduation time! Love the sepia tone.
I posted my mother's graduation photo at one point, and a blogger said she could tell it was graduation from graduate school because of the gown.
Nice to share your youthful photo with us. In my high school graduation photo, I'm grinning from ear to ear. And I remember the gown was blue.

The photo looks great in sepia Mary, but the black and white makes you seem younger - the sepia gives it that vintage "it must have been a REALLY long time ago" feel lol.
