The days at the beach when we are young makes an impression that stays with us. I'd guess you are about three, the sand is soft and it is a place to play - unless you are in the water. I don't know the beach, although I'd guess Coney Island or Jones Beach. Like the Jersey shore when I was little, I have the memories - the photos reinforce those memories...

In high school (1975) I LOVED developing my pictures in sepia .. some photos just lend themselves to sepia. Love this beach portrait!
